giving back
As small businesses, BCLBA members truly know their communities in a unique way. They know their customers, their local nonprofits, law enforcement officials, and nearest hospitals. In addition to providing quality service to their communities, our members are committed to making them better places.
love in the trenches
BCLBA is proud to partner with LITT, a nonprofit offering peer support, coping skills, recovery resources, and education to parents and siblings of those who suffer from the disease of addiction and to those who have lost a child or sibling to addiction.
We support LITT’s mission to UNDO THE OD by placing Narcan, a life-saving prescription medicine, in every bar, restaurant, liquor store and club. We’re proud to help make this mission possible through our connections to and relationships with the alcohol beverage establishments in Baltimore County.

meals for heroes
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic affected every industry, but has been particularly difficult on the restaurant and bar industry. Fortunately, many liquor stores have experienced a surge in business, as they were deemed an essential business from the start of the pandemic.
In difficult times, our members show their true character. Voicing a desire to help not only their fellow restaurant and bar members, but local hospital workers keeping our communities safe during the pandemic, the BCLBA Meals for Heroes Challenge was born.
A BCLBA member liquor would donate meals to their local hospital. These meals were purchased from and delivered by BCLBA member restaurants, providing much-need business during a difficult time, while keeping our selfless hospital workers well-fed.
To spread the word, the liquor store would name the hospital they were helping and the partner restaurant on social media, and then challenge another liquor store to do the same in their community, using the hashtag #BCLBAMealsForHeroes.
Unsurprisingly, our members stepped up to the challenge. To date, over 700 meals have been donated and over $10,000 has been spent with local restaurants in support of the challenge.
